10 Speed is the cafe Frogtown has been waiting for
Frogtown has the river, the bike path, and now it has the cafe that belongs next to both. 10 Speed sits at 3014 Worthen Ave, Building C, right where the LA River bike path runs past, and it is the kind of place that feels like it was always supposed to be there, even though it only opened in 2025. A glasshouse design, natural light coming in from every angle, and coffee ready at 6am. That last detail matters if you are the kind of person who rides before work.
Most people who use the river path know Spoke, and Spoke is fine. But 10 Speed is the newer answer, and it is worth knowing about. The building itself does a lot of the work, bright and open in a way that feels generous rather than designed to impress, and the hours run all the way to 6pm, which means it covers the ride home as well as the morning commute.
The location is specific in the best way. You are not going slightly out of your way to find this place. If you are on the path, it is simply there, sitting in the light, waiting. That kind of convenience usually means a tradeoff somewhere, and here it does not. The cafe earns its place on the route rather than just occupying it.
Get there early on a weekend, lock up outside, and take a seat by the glass. The morning light through those windows is reason enough to linger longer than you planned.
