Best Bars in Frogtown

April 2026

Frogtown doesn't have a bar on every corner, and that's kind of the point. The drinking scene here is small, intentional, and deeply tied to the neighborhood's river-adjacent, artist-populated identity. These are the spots worth knowing.

Frogtown Brewery, 2931 Gilroy St
This is the anchor. A 4.7-star craft brewery tucked on Gilroy that feels like it was built for the neighborhood rather than imported into it. The IPAs are brewed on-site, and the rotating seasonal taps mean there's always a reason to come back. Get there before 6pm on a weekday if you want elbow room. Weekend afternoons fill up fast with the post-bike-ride crowd rolling in from the LA River path. Street parking on Gilroy and the surrounding blocks is generally fine, but give yourself an extra five minutes on Saturday.

the frog spot, LA River Bike Path
Also pulling a 4.7, this one earns its rating through sheer vibe alone. Situated right on the LA River Bike Path, it's the kind of place you stumble onto after a ride and end up staying for two hours. Cold drink, river breeze, zero pretension. Best experienced on a weekday afternoon when the path crowd thins out and you can actually hear yourself think.

Zebulon Café Concert, 2476 Fletcher Dr
A 4.6-star bar that doubles as a music venue, and one of the more quietly essential spots in the whole neighborhood. The programming leans experimental and jazz-adjacent, but it shifts, check their calendar before you go. The bar itself is low-key and unpretentious, which makes the live music hit differently than it would in a louder, more sceney room. Fletcher Drive has decent street parking, and the walk from Marsh Park if you come by bike is less than five minutes.

Prada Silver Frog, Fletcher and Clearwater
Don't let the name throw you. This 4.5-star neighborhood bar with a patio is exactly what it sounds like: a local hangout at the corner of Fletcher and Clearwater that draws a mix of longtime residents and newer arrivals without feeling divided. The patio is the move in warmer months. Go on a Thursday when it's a little looser than the weekend crowd. Cash is appreciated but not required.

A note on the neighborhood
Frogtown's bar scene is genuinely walkable if you position yourself right, Frogtown Brewery, Zebulon, and Prada Silver Frog form a rough triangle that's easy to cover in one evening on foot or by bike. The LA River path connects most of it. If you're driving in from outside the neighborhood, the best general advice is to park once near Fletcher Drive and walk. The neighborhood rewards that pace anyway.

These spots won't all be here forever, Frogtown is changing, but right now, this is the real list.
