best brunch spots in frogtown

April 2026

Frogtown doesn't do brunch the way Weho does brunch. There's no valet, no two-hour wait, no table of influencers posting their avocado toast. What you get here is river light, good coffee, and food made by people who actually live in the neighborhood. That's the whole pitch, and honestly, it's a better one.

Here's where to eat on a slow Sunday morning in Elysian Valley.

Just What I Kneaded · 2029 Blake Ave · 4.6★

Start here if you want the full sit-down experience. This little cafe on Blake Ave has a patio that feels genuinely unhurried, the kind of place where you order something with eggs, drink a second coffee you didn't plan on, and suddenly it's noon. The baked goods are the reason people come back. Come before 10am on weekends if you want a table without waiting. Street parking on Blake usually opens up within a block.

Constellation Coffee · 2479 N Glendale Blvd · 4.8★

One of the highest-rated spots in the neighborhood, and the patio alone is worth the trip. Constellation pulls exceptional espresso and the vibe is creative-community without being precious about it. Great for a lighter brunch, grab a pastry, a cortado, and a seat outside. The Glendale Blvd corridor is walkable from the river path, so this pairs well with a morning bike ride. Parking in the small lot out front or street spots on Glendale.

Cafecito Organico Roasting Co. · 2902 Gilroy St · 4.7★

Tucked near the Frogtown Brewery cluster on Gilroy, Cafecito Organico is a neighborhood anchor. They roast their own beans and the patio is genuinely pleasant on a cool morning. This is where you'll find local artists and river regulars doing the Saturday paper thing. Simple, honest, and good. It's steps from Frogtown Brewery if you're planning to make a day of it.

Coco's Variety Store · 2427 Riverside Dr · 4.7★

The name undersells it. Coco's is a coffee shop with real personality, part corner store, part community living room. On Riverside Dr with the river close by, it draws the post-bike-ride crowd and the just-woke-up crowd in equal measure. Don't overthink it. Go, get a coffee, stay a while.

Rick's Drive In & Out · 2400 Fletcher Dr · 4.4★

A Frogtown institution. Rick's is a classic drive-in on Fletcher that serves the kind of breakfast that doesn't need a concept, eggs, griddle items, straightforward and satisfying. It's cash-friendly, unpretentious, and exactly what you want after a morning at Marsh Park. Gets busy with families on weekends. Arrive early or embrace the wait with a coffee from somewhere on the list above.

La Colombe · 2828 Newell St · 4.6★

Yes, it's a small chain, but the Frogtown location on Newell St earns its place on this list. The space is beautiful in that converted-industrial-building way that Frogtown does so well, the patio is large enough for groups, and the draft lattes are genuinely great. Good option if you're meeting more than two people and need room to spread out. Metered parking on Newell or the surrounding blocks.

Make it a morning: add the Frogtown Farmers Market

If you're brunch-ing on a Saturday, the Frogtown Farmers Market at 1433 Glendale Blvd (4.7★) is worth building your morning around. Local produce, artisan bread, baked goods, grab something for the walk before you commit to a table. It has that easy, neighborhood-feels energy that makes Frogtown worth coming back to.

A note on parking and timing

Frogtown is still relatively under the radar compared to Silver Lake and Echo Park, which means weekend mornings are manageable. Street parking on Fletcher Dr, Blake Ave, and Gilroy St is generally findable before 10:30am. If you're coming from elsewhere, the LA River Bike Path is a genuinely great way to arrive, lock up near Marsh Park at 2490 Fletcher Dr and walk to almost anything on this list.

Brunch here doesn't feel like a production. That's the whole point.
