Palermo is Los Feliz's reliable old-school Italian
Palermo has been feeding the neighborhood at the corner of Vermont for years, and 1,800-plus Google reviews at 4.7 stars tells you this is not a place people stumble into once and forget. It is the kind of Italian restaurant that does not need to reinvent itself because the classics it serves are the reason people keep coming back.
The setting is no-frills, the vibe is family-friendly, and the menu leans into pizza and traditional Italian dishes without pretense. At $$ pricing, it sits comfortably in the range where you can come on a Tuesday with no occasion and not feel like you overdid it.
Beyond dinner, Palermo offers brunch and breakfast, which gives it more range than most Italian spots in the area. There is a patio for outdoor seating, live music on select nights, a full bar with cocktails, wine, and beer, and the place handles groups well. They take reservations, and if you cannot make it in, takeout and delivery are both options.
If you live in Los Feliz and somehow do not have a standing relationship with this place yet, it is worth correcting that.
