Best Restaurants, Bars, and Things to Do in Los Feliz Right Now (April 2026)
Los Feliz is buzzing in April 2026 with the historic Vista Theatre back open, Lazy Acres hitting its one-year mark, and the neighborhood's classic dining and nightlife scene running better than ever.
What's New in Los Feliz Right Now
The big news: the Vista Theatre has reopened its doors at 4473 Sunset Drive, and the neighborhood feels it. The Spanish Colonial Revival landmark, one of the last single-screen movie palaces in LA, is back doing what it was built to do, and the energy on that block on a weekend night is something worth experiencing in person. Grab a seat early.
Over on Hillhurst, Lazy Acres Natural Market (1800 Hillhurst Ave) is celebrating its first full year in Los Feliz. The grocery-meets-prepared-foods destination has quietly become a go-to for hot bar lunches, excellent coffee, and the kind of thoughtful produce section that actually makes you want to cook. Pick up a sandwich and walk it down to Griffith Park, a move that holds up every time.
Speaking of the park: the Griffith Park Visitor Center is in the middle of a long-overdue facelift and is expected to reopen sometime around mid-October 2026. Worth noting if you're planning a deeper hike day later in the year.
Where to Eat in Los Feliz
Little Dom's (2128 Hillhurst Ave) remains the anchor of the neighborhood's dining scene, red-sauce Italian with genuine warmth, a deli counter worth lingering at, and a brunch that fills up fast on Sundays. The cacio e pepe and the Italian beef sandwich both earn their reputation.
Figaro Bistrot (1802 N Vermont Ave) is the closest thing Los Feliz has to a Paris café that isn't trying too hard to be one. Onion soup, steak frites, a glass of Côtes du Rhône, it works morning, noon, and night. The Vermont Ave sidewalk tables are back in full swing as the weather warms up.
For something more casual, HomeState (4624 Hollywood Blvd, just at the eastern edge of the neighborhood) delivers Texas breakfast tacos and brisket that punch well above their price point. The line moves quickly. Order the migas.
If you're after coffee and a proper morning sit-down, Caffe Vita (1839 N Vermont Ave) pulls some of the most consistent espresso on the Vermont corridor. Small, unpretentious, and usually has a seat if you arrive before 9am.
Best Bars and Nightlife in Los Feliz
The Dresden (1760 N Vermont Ave) is non-negotiable. Marty and Elayne have played the lounge here for decades, and the room, all amber light and dark wood, feels like it exists slightly outside of time. Come for a Bloody Mary at the bar, stay for the live music. It is specifically and wonderfully Los Feliz.
Ye Rustic Inn (1831 Hillhurst Ave) is the neighborhood dive that earns the title honestly. Pool table, cold beer, no attitude, and a back patio that gets loud and fun on weekend nights. The burger is better than it needs to be.
For something a little more polished, Café Stella (3932 W Sunset Blvd, just into Silver Lake but a short walk) does a French-leaning wine bar thing that pairs well with a Vista Theatre double feature evening. Natural wines, good charcuterie, low lighting.
Things to Do in Los Feliz This Weekend
Start at Skylight Books (1818 N Vermont Ave), one of the best independent bookstores in Los Angeles, full stop. The staff picks are genuinely curated, the events calendar is active, and the attached cat has his own opinions about your selections.
Then walk Griffith Park. The trails off the Western Canyon Road entrance offer some of the most accessible hiking with real payoff views of the city below. The park is free, open daily, and still one of the best things about living on this side of LA.
Cap the night with a movie at the newly reopened Vista Theatre (4473 Sunset Dr). Single screen, great sound, the kind of moviegoing experience that reminds you why it matters to see films in a room with other people.
On Sunday mornings, the stretch of Vermont between Franklin and Los Feliz Blvd is worth a slow walk, Figaro for coffee, Skylight for browsing, and Little Dom's Deli for a sandwich to take into the park.
