This one is specific and worth knowing about. On Monday April 20, the Lodge Room (104 N Ave 56, Highland Park) is hosting a book reading and signing for Fab 5 Freddy, the Yo! MTV Raps host, hip-hop ambassador, and one of the bridges between New York's early hip-hop scene and mainstream American culture. The reading starts at 7:30pm with Roger Guenveur Smith moderating.
Then at 9pm: Yo! The Afterparty. Peanut Butter Wolf and J.Rocc, two of the most respected figures in West Coast beat music and hip-hop curation, doing VJ sets. Fab 5 Freddy on the mic. This is the kind of night that exists specifically in Los Angeles and specifically in Highland Park in 2026.
