Best Restaurants in West Hollywood

April 2026

West Hollywood feeds people well. From plant-based wine bars on Santa Monica to Argentine steakhouses tucked into Melrose, the neighborhood has a genuinely deep restaurant scene, one that rewards regulars and first-timers equally. Here's where we actually eat.

BOA Steakhouse · 9200 W Sunset Blvd · 4.7★
The prime rib here is the reason people make reservations weeks out. Sit on the patio if you can get it, the Sunset Strip views at dusk are the kind of thing that reminds you why you live here. Dress up a little. It's that kind of place. Valet is your best bet; street parking on the Strip at dinner is a fantasy.

Gracias Madre · 8905 Melrose Ave · 4.6★
Plant-based Mexican done with real ambition. The tableside guacamole is a ritual, the mezcal program is serious, and the dining room feels like someone actually thought about how candlelight works. Good for dates. Good for groups. Go before 7pm if you want a quieter table.

Carlitos Gardel Argentine Steakhouse · 7963 Melrose Ave · 4.6★
An old-school gem on Melrose that never gets loud enough to be annoying. The empanadas are the move to start, and the parrilla cuts are the real deal. The patio is shaded and unhurried. Bring someone you actually want to talk to.

Connie and Ted's · 8171 Santa Monica Blvd · 4.5★
New England seafood in WeHo sounds like a concept that shouldn't work. It absolutely works. The clam chowder is thick and honest, the oyster selection rotates with what's fresh, and weekend brunch turns into a whole afternoon if you let it. Reservations are smart here.

Pura Vita Pizzeria · 8274 Santa Monica Blvd · 4.7★
Fully plant-based pizza and a wine list that could hold its own anywhere on the Westside. The atmosphere is relaxed in the best way, you can hear your table, the cocktails are thoughtful, and they do brunch on weekends. One of the friendliest spots in the neighborhood.

Galanga Thai Fusion · 7440 Santa Monica Blvd · 4.5★
Affordable, consistent, and easy to love. The patio is small but perfect for a weeknight dinner when you don't want to fight for a reservation. Order the curries. This is the kind of neighborhood restaurant every block wishes it had.

The Griddle Cafe · 7916 W Sunset Blvd · 4.4★
Weekend brunch lines form early and for good reason. The pancakes are enormous, we mean legitimately large, and the coffee keeps coming. Go on a Tuesday morning if you want the full experience without the wait. Cash-friendly, loud, cheerful, and deeply LA.

Joey's Cafe · 8301 Santa Monica Blvd · 4.5★
A neighborhood all-day cafe that does breakfast and lunch without any fuss. The patio fills up with locals by 9am on weekends. Eggs, sandwiches, good coffee, nothing complicated, everything right. Park on the side streets off Santa Monica.

Mauro's Cafe · 7469 Melrose Ave · 4.5★
Tucked inside the Fred Segal complex, Mauro's earns its own visit. The patio is genuinely lovely, the Italian-leaning menu hits the spot for lunch or an early dinner, and the people-watching on Melrose from that table is unbeatable.

Hollywood Improv · 8162 Melrose Ave · 4.6★
Yes, it's a comedy club, but the food and cocktails are better than they need to be, and dinner-plus-a-show here is one of the better evenings you can put together in WeHo. Reserve a table, order early, and let the night go long.

A few more worth knowing: The Original Farmers Market at 6333 W 3rd St (technically on the border, but claimed by every WeHo regular) is mandatory for a lazy Saturday, grab Du-par's pancakes at the diner counter or snack your way through Magee's dried fruits and nuts. And Urth Caffe at 8565 Melrose Ave isn't a restaurant exactly, but the organic green tea latte and patio scene have fueled more WeHo afternoons than we can count.

West Hollywood rewards the curious eater. The blocks between Santa Monica, Melrose, and Sunset hold more good meals per square mile than almost anywhere in the city. Go explore.
