A perfect night out in West Hollywood
Here's the move. Park once, walk everywhere, and let the night unfold like only WeHo can deliver it.
5:30pm, Start at Book Soup
Drop your car in the lot off Larrabee, just east of the Strip, and walk west to Book Soup at 8818 Sunset Blvd. Give yourself 30 minutes minimum. The fiction wall alone is dangerous. Check the event board near the register, author readings happen here regularly and they're free. Grab something for the Troubadour line later.
6:30pm, Drinks at BOA
A five-minute walk west gets you to BOA Steakhouse at 9200 W Sunset Blvd. Skip the wait for a table and go straight to the patio bar. Order a martini and watch the Strip light up below you. If you're hungry, the prime rib here is the real reason people come. Seriously, get it.
8:00pm, Over to the Troubadour
Walk back east on Sunset, cut down to Santa Monica Blvd, and you're at The Troubadour at 9081 Santa Monica Blvd in about 10 minutes. This room is small, which is the whole point. James Taylor played here. Elton John played here. Whoever's on tonight is playing the same stage. Grab a beer at the bar inside, find a spot close to the front, and just let it happen.
Between sets or after, Las Perlas
If the show ends early or you need a breather, Las Perlas at 7511 Santa Monica Blvd is your spot. Mezcal list is serious, patio is low-key, and the crowd is always good. Order whatever the bartender recommends. They know what they're doing.
Late night, Pura Vita Pizzeria
End the night at Pura Vita at 8274 Santa Monica Blvd. Yes, it's plant-based. No, you won't miss the meat. The pizza is genuinely great and the wine list is thoughtful. It's loud in the best way, candles on the table, and the kitchen stays open late enough to make it worth the walk.
The whole night is maybe two miles on foot, total. That's the secret to WeHo, park it once and let the neighborhood do the work.
