Best Bars in Echo Park

April 2026

Echo Park has always had a bar scene that feels like it belongs to the people who actually live here, a little rough around the edges, genuinely fun, and never trying too hard. Whether you want mezcal in a garden, live music on a Tuesday, or ribs with your beer, this neighborhood delivers. Here's where to drink well.

Bar Flores · 1641 Echo Park Ave
This is the one you bring out-of-towners to when you want them to understand the neighborhood. The outdoor garden patio is draped and candlelit, the mezcal cocktail list is serious without being pretentious, and the vibe sits somewhere between a dinner party and a dive. Rated 4.5★ and priced at $$$, it's the splurge that feels worth it. Go on a weeknight if you want to actually have a conversation. Street parking on Echo Park Ave can be tight, try the side streets off Vestal.

Sticky Rice Echo Park · 1801 W Sunset Blvd
Don't let the wine bar label fool you, this place gets lively. There's a patio, live music nights, cocktails that rotate with the season, and a room that fills up with regulars who clearly never want to leave. At 4.7★, it's one of the highest-rated spots on the strip. They take reservations, which is smart for groups. Parking in the strip mall lot out front is usually fine earlier in the evening.

Baby Blues BBQ · 1901 W Sunset Blvd
Order the ribs, get a cold beer, sit on the patio. That's the whole plan and it works every time. Baby Blues is a 4.6★ neighborhood institution that somehow manages to be a legit bar and a legit BBQ spot simultaneously. The patio is great for groups, they take reservations, and the portions are generous enough that you'll be glad you didn't snack beforehand. Gets loud and festive on weekend nights, lean into it.

The Echo · 1822 W Sunset Blvd
Technically a nightclub, but The Echo is really just Echo Park's living room with a sound system. The bar is no-frills, the music is almost always good, and the crowd is the kind of mixed, music-obsessed crowd this neighborhood has always attracted. Check their calendar, some of the best local and touring indie acts come through here. The attached Echoplex handles bigger shows. Street parking on Sunset is tough; walk from the neighborhood or grab a spot on Glendale Blvd.

Masa of Echo Park Bakery & Cafe · 1800 W Sunset Blvd
Yes, it's a bakery and cafe, but Masa has a full cocktail program and a patio that turns into a genuinely pleasant place to drink in the evening. The space is warm and a little romantic, they take reservations, and it works well for groups who want to eat well alongside their drinks. Rated 4.6★. Go for brunch cocktails on the weekend if day drinking in a beautiful room sounds right to you.

Bootie LA at Bootleg Theater · 1154 Glendale Blvd
If you want to actually dance, Bootie LA, the long-running mashup night, throws down at 1154 Glendale Blvd with a bar and a floor that gets properly packed. It's a 4.5★ production and one of the few nights in Echo Park where dancing is genuinely the point. Check dates before you go, it doesn't run every weekend.

A few honest tips
Echo Park bars tend to be cash-friendly but card-accepting. The Sunset Blvd corridor between Alvarado and Glendale is walkable, so park once and bar-hop on foot, that's really how this neighborhood is meant to be experienced. Most of these spots peak between 9pm and midnight on Friday and Saturday. On weeknights, you'll often find the same quality with half the crowd.
