A perfect night out in Culver City

April 2026

Park once on Culver Blvd near Main St around 6:30pm, you won't need to move your car again. The whole night is basically walkable from here.

Start with a drink and a browse. The Ripped Bodice (3806 Main St) closes at 7, so duck in first. It's the only all-romance bookstore in the country and even if that's not your genre, the vibe is contagious. Grab something for the nightstand.

Then walk half a block to LaRocco's Pizzeria (3819 Main St) for a slice and a cocktail on the patio. It's casual, loud in a good way, and the pizza is exactly what you want before a show. Order a margherita, split it, don't overthink it.

At 8pm, catch whatever's on at Kirk Douglas Theatre (9820 Washington Blvd), it's a 10-minute walk east on Washington. The Center Theatre Group books real stuff here, not touring fluff. Check their calendar before you go and buy tickets in advance. The theater itself is intimate enough that every seat feels good.

After the show, you're basically across the street from Nightjar at Platform LA (8850 Washington Blvd). This is your move. The cocktail list is serious without being precious, the space feels like someone actually thought about it, and the crowd is the right mix of locals and people who drove over from Culver-adjacent. Get there by 10:15 and grab a spot before it fills.

If you want to keep going, The Cinema Bar (3967 Sepulveda Blvd) is open until 2am and cash-only, which somehow makes it better. It's a 10-minute Lyft or a long walk west. Dark, divey, a live country or blues act most nights. This is where the night either ends perfectly or goes sideways in the best way.

That's it. One parking spot, one neighborhood, no stress. Culver City keeps doing this thing where you look up and it's 1am and you've barely moved.
