A perfect night out in Silver Lake

April 2026

Start at Dayglow (3206 W Sunset Blvd) around 6pm. Grab a single-origin espresso drink and walk the Sunset Strip stretch while the light goes golden. There's usually street parking on Sunset west of Dynamic, grab it now before dinner crowds roll in.

From Dayglow, it's a seven-minute walk east to Azizam (2943 Sunset Blvd). Get there by 6:30 and put your name in, they don't take reservations and the room fills fast. The Persian-inspired seasonal menu changes, but order whatever fish they're running and let the kitchen do its thing. This is a $-priced dinner that eats like a splurge.

After dinner, keep walking east on Sunset about four minutes to The Semi Tropic (2122 Sunset Blvd). It's cozy and low-lit and the cocktail list is genuinely great. Get a craft cocktail, something citrusy if they have it, and take your time. This is the unwind moment before the night kicks up.

By 9pm, loop back west toward Bacari (3626 W Sunset Blvd) if you want to linger over wine and small plates on the patio. They often have live music and the vibe is easy and social. Split something off the menu, the boards are good, and let the night stretch.

Then walk four blocks east to Black Cat (3909 W Sunset Blvd). It's a neighborhood bar with good energy and no attitude. Get a beer, talk to whoever's next to you, and figure out if you're calling it or heading to Echoplex (1822 Sunset Blvd) to catch whatever's on that night. Check their calendar ahead of time, shows usually start at 9 or 10.

If the night ends without a show, that's fine too. Walk back west, grab a late coffee at Café Tropical (2900 W Sunset Blvd) if they're still open, and get a café con leche for the road. Silver Lake doesn't need a big finale. The walk home is the point.
