The best morning-to-night food crawl in Larchmont Village

April 2026

Park once on Larchmont Blvd, there's usually street parking on the side streets off Rosewood or Virginia, and you won't need to move your car for the entire day. That's the magic of this neighborhood. Everything is walkable, nothing feels rushed, and somehow you end up eating very, very well.

8:00am, Coffee at Dura Coffee
Start at Dura Coffee at 429 N Western Ave, just a five-minute walk from the north end of the boulevard. It's a specialty shop that takes pour-over seriously. Order the single-origin pour-over and take a seat. This is your slow, quiet moment before the day picks up.

9:00am, Farmers Market if it's Sunday
Head straight down to Larchmont Blvd. If it's Sunday, the Larchmont Village Farmers Market is set up along the boulevard and it's exactly what you'd hope for, artisan bread, local produce, people with dogs. Grab a pastry and walk it slowly. If it's a weekday, skip ahead to Café Midi.

9:30am, Second coffee at Café Midi
Café Midi at 148 N Larchmont Blvd is the neighborhood living room. Order a cappuccino or cortado, grab a sidewalk table, and watch the block wake up. This is a great spot to linger if you're with someone, the people-watching is genuinely excellent.

11:00am, Browse Chevalier's Books
Walk two minutes south to Chevalier's Books at 133 N Larchmont Blvd. It's been here since the 1940s and feels like it, in the best way. The fiction section is curated with real taste. You will buy something. Budget accordingly.

12:30pm, Lunch at Giamela's or Girasole
Two totally different lunch moods, both great. If you want cheap and fast, Giamela's on Larchmont Blvd does an Italian sub that hits hard, get the turkey and avocado if you want something lighter. If you want a proper sit-down with a glass of wine, Girasole at 225 N Larchmont Blvd has a patio and does brunch beautifully. Both are walkable from Chevalier's.

2:00pm, Wine and cheese at Larchmont Village Wine, Spirits & Cheese
This is the afternoon move. Pop into Larchmont Village Wine at 223 N Larchmont Blvd and ask whoever's working what they're excited about right now. They always have an answer. Pick up a bottle for later or just taste around, they're good about that.

3:00pm, Ice cream walk
Salt & Straw at 240 N Larchmont Blvd is right there. Get whatever the seasonal special is, that's always the right call. Then walk it south down the boulevard slowly. This is the best part of the afternoon.

4:00pm, Quick detour to LACMA or the Tar Pits
Both are about 10 minutes by car or a 20-minute walk down Wilshire. La Brea Tar Pits at 5801 Wilshire Blvd is genuinely wild, active fossil excavations, mammoth skeletons, the whole thing. Or swing by LACMA at 5905 Wilshire Blvd just to walk through the Urban Light installation while the afternoon light is still good. Either way, be back on Larchmont by 6.

6:30pm, Dinner at Republique
This one requires a reservation. Republique at 624 S La Brea Ave is about five minutes from the boulevard and worth every bit of the detour. Order the roast chicken if it's on the menu. Get a bottle of something natural. Take your time.

9:00pm, Nightcap at The Parlour Room
End the night at The Parlour Room at 2319 Melrose Ave, just on the Larchmont-adjacent edge of the neighborhood. It's a natural wine bar with real knowledge behind the counter and a cheese board that makes a great late-night snack. Tell them roughly what you've been drinking all day. They'll find you something perfect to finish on.

That's the whole day. You'll have eaten well, walked maybe two miles total, and felt very much like a local, even if you aren't one yet.
