dive bars and hidden gems in larchmont village

April 2026

Larchmont Village doesn't exactly scream dive bar. It's all wide sidewalks and dog strollers and people who have strong opinions about cortados. But lean into the edges of this neighborhood, Melrose to the north, La Brea to the east, and you'll find a few spots worth staying up for.

Start at The Parlour Room (2319 Melrose Ave). This is the hidden gem the neighborhood deserves. Small, candle-lit, and serious about what's in your glass, they pour natural and biodynamic wines that actually taste like something, not like a safe choice. Order whatever the person behind the bar is excited about. Get the charcuterie board. Stay longer than you planned. It's that kind of room.

The Parlour Room is chill in the best way, low voices, good music at a volume that doesn't require leaning in to hear your friend. Best nights are Thursday through Saturday. No real cover. Show up before 9 if you want a seat.

For late-night fuel, Larchmont Village Wine, Spirits & Cheese (223 N Larchmont Blvd) is a quiet legend. It's a bottle shop with taste, the kind of place you walk in for one thing and leave with three. Grab something interesting for wherever the night takes you next.

When it gets late and you need something in your stomach, Giamela's Submarine Sandwiches on Larchmont Blvd is your move. Cash-and-carry energy, an Italian sub that fixes everything, and zero pretension. The turkey and avocado works too but be honest with yourself, you want the Italian.

The honest truth about Larchmont after midnight: you're probably spilling onto Melrose or heading ten minutes west. But The Parlour Room will hold you longer than you expect, and that's not nothing. Some nights that's the whole night.
