Every happy hour worth knowing in East Hollywood

April 2026

East Hollywood has one of the most underrated drinking scenes in the city. You've got dive bars with genuine character, a natural wine bar shucking oysters on Fountain, a mezcal cave, and a handful of spots that have been quietly doing their thing for decades. Here's every happy hour worth knowing, bookmark this, you'll use it.

Found Oyster · 4880 Fountain Ave · Found Oyster is the anchor of East Hollywood's grown-up drinking scene. This natural wine bar and raw bar runs happy hour weekdays with discounted glasses of wine and half-shell deals that make it one of the better after-work spots in the neighborhood. The patio is small and coveted, get there early. The vibe is New England fishing shack meets Silver Lake wine list, and it works. Reservations available if you want to lock down a table.

Harvard and Stone · 5221 Hollywood Blvd · One of the best cocktail bars in East Hollywood, full stop. Harvard and Stone runs happy hour Monday through Friday in the early evening with discounted cocktails and a rotating cast of bartenders who actually know what they're doing. The space is all exposed brick and low light, with a burlesque stage in the back room. Come before the night crowd arrives and you'll get excellent drinks at honest prices without competing for space at the bar.

La Cuevita · 5922 N Figueroa St · Technically Highland Park adjacent, but close enough and worth every minute of the drive. La Cuevita is a mezcal bar built into what feels like an actual cave, low ceilings, candlelight, agave spirits covering every inch of the back wall. Happy hour runs weekday afternoons with deals on well drinks and select mezcal pours. The agave flight is the move. If you're new to mezcal, the bartenders here will take care of you.

The Drawing Room · 1800 Hillhurst Ave · This is a serious dive bar, no irony, no theme, just a dark room with cheap drinks and regulars who've been coming since before you moved to the neighborhood. The Drawing Room doesn't advertise happy hour so much as it just always has affordable drinks. Cash only, no frills, perfect. Go when you want to disappear into a barstool for a couple of hours.

Jumbo's Clown Room · 5153 Hollywood Blvd · A Hollywood institution. Jumbo's is a bikini bar that doubles as one of the more interesting places to have a drink in East Hollywood, the performers are dancers, not strippers, and the whole room has this unpretentious, anything-goes energy that's hard to find. Drinks are affordable, the vibe is welcoming, and the crowd on any given night is wonderfully mixed. Happy hour deals run in the early evening on weekdays.

Eagle LA · 4219 Santa Monica Blvd · Eagle LA is a leather bar and a neighborhood institution, with some of the most reliable drink specials in East Hollywood. Beer busts, happy hour pricing on weekdays, and a backyard patio that fills up fast on warm evenings. Welcoming to everyone, loyal to its regulars. Check their social for current specials, they post consistently.

Bardot · 1737 N Vine St · Bardot sits inside the Avalon Hollywood complex and runs happy hour on weekdays before the venue shifts into nightclub mode. Expect cocktail specials and a crowd that leans creative industry. The space is genuinely beautiful, good place to impress someone before you've decided where to go next.

Skylight Gardens · Attached to Skylight Books on Vermont · One of East Hollywood's quieter happy hour options. Skylight Gardens is a courtyard bar with a neighborhood bookstore on one side and good natural wine on the other. Low-key, literary, great for a first drink or a long one. Check current hours as programming can shift seasonally.

Melody · 5101 W Santa Monica Blvd · Melody is a cocktail bar with strong neighborhood-bar energy, approachable drinks, good music, and none of the attitude you'd find a few miles west. Happy hour runs on weekdays with discounted cocktails and a welcoming room. The kind of place you walk into alone and leave with plans for the rest of the evening.

A few tips for drinking well in East Hollywood: Wednesday and Thursday are the sweet spots, deals are running, bars aren't slammed, and you can actually talk to the bartender. Fountain Avenue between Vermont and Normandie has become a quiet little corridor worth knowing (Found Oyster is there, Besties Vegan Paradise is nearby for a sweet finish). And if you're eating before or after, DeSano Pizza on Santa Monica and Pailin Thai on Sunset are both built for the job.
