Avalon Hollywood and Bardot — the East Hollywood venue that covers every format
Avalon Hollywood is at 1735 N Vine Street in Hollywood, close enough to East Hollywood and Thai Town that the neighborhood claims it as its venue. The main room holds about 1,500 people and books DJ nights, live shows, and the touring acts that are too large for the Troubadour and not quite the Fonda. Bardot is the smaller upstairs room in the same building, 300 capacity, more intimate booking, the artists that are building toward the main room below.
The combination of two rooms in the same building means that on a big weekend night you can move between a 300-person show and a 1,500-person DJ night without leaving the building. It is one of the more flexible venue situations in Los Angeles.
The night sequence from Thai Town: dinner at Jitlada (5233 W Sunset Blvd), the jungle curry before a late show is an acquired combination and then a permanent one. Walk or Uber to Avalon. After: the taco trucks are on Hollywood Boulevard all night.
