Best Restaurants in Virgil Village

April 2026

Virgil Village sits in that sweet spot between Silver Lake and East Hollywood where the blocks feel genuinely lived-in. The restaurants here aren't trying to be discovered, they already have regulars, and those regulars are loyal. Here's where to eat and drink well in one of LA's most quietly excellent neighborhoods.

Budonoki · 654 N Virgil Ave
This is the kind of place that earns its 4.7 stars by just being really, really good at what it does. Japanese-inspired small plates, a covered patio perfect for groups, and cocktails worth lingering over. Make a reservation on weekends, it fills up. If you're coming with four or more people, this is your anchor dinner spot.

Sqirl · 720 N Virgil Ave
Yes, you've heard of it. But it's on this list because the ricotta toast with house-made jam is still one of the best bites in LA, full stop. Go on a weekday morning before 9am if you want to skip the wait. The seasonal fruit jams and preserves alone are worth the trip, grab a jar on your way out.

Silverlake Ramen · 2927 Sunset Blvd
When the marine layer rolls in or it's one of those rare cold January nights, this is where you want to be. The tonkotsu ramen comes with a pork bone broth that's been going for hours, rich, cloudy, deeply savory. The spicy miso ramen has real heat without being a dare. No frills, great bowl, fair price.

Daybird · 240 N Virgil Ave
Rotating Faces' spicy fried chicken concept landed here and it landed well. It's a single-item-done-right situation, fried chicken sandwich, patio seating, wallet-friendly prices. The line moves fast. Grab a spot outside and eat it immediately while it's still crackling.

Cafebre · 720 N Virgil Ave
Same address as Sqirl, different energy entirely. Cafebre transforms into a natural wine bar in the evenings, and it does it gracefully. The wine list leans funky and interesting without being pretentious. Come after 6pm on a Thursday or Friday when the neighborhood crowd starts filtering in. One of those spots that makes Virgil Village feel like a real place to live.

A Few More Worth Knowing
For ramen at the counter with no fuss: Silverlake Ramen at 2927 Sunset Blvd is open late and consistent. For a post-dinner drink, Alma's Cider & Beer at 904 N Virgil Ave has a patio and a genuinely good tap list, 4.8 stars and a neighborhood regular's favorite. If you're grabbing something before or after: Dinosaur Coffee at 2927 Sunset Blvd does excellent espresso and, unexpectedly, natural wine.

Parking in Virgil Village
Street parking on N Virgil Ave and the surrounding residential blocks is manageable most nights. Avoid Sunset Blvd on weekend evenings, it fills up fast. Your best bet is arriving a few blocks north and walking down. It's a short walk and the neighborhood is worth the stroll.

Virgil Village doesn't have a flagship restaurant everyone's talking about on food TV. What it has is better: a collection of places where the food is good, the prices are honest, and someone clearly cares. That's harder to find than it sounds in this city.
